The Modi government has recently announced to extend the term of ‘Atal Vima Kalyan Yojana’ till June 3, 2021 under the Employees State Insurance Act (ESIC Act.).
The Central Government has also notified the payment under this scheme. Subscribers will then be given a 50 per cent unemployment benefit with some discounts until 31 December 2020. This benefit will be available to workers who lost their jobs before 31 December. Sources close to the issue said.
According to media reports, the exemption in the rules under the scheme will be terminated after December 31, 2020. While between January 1, 2021 and June 2021, the subscribers will be able to avail the benefits only on the basis of the original criteria. Unemployment benefits during this period will be 25 per cent instead of 50 per cent. According to the report,
the benefit of this scheme will be available only to the employees in the organized sector who have been insured by ESIC and have been employed for more than two years. Apart from this Aadhaar and bank account must also be connected to the database.

According to the report, a condition for the insured is that he has worked for at least 2 years before becoming unemployed. Also, the contribution in this matter should be paid by the employer or be payable. Unemployed, pension program or people taking voluntary retirement due to bad practices will not get the benefit of this scheme. The unemployed person can claim this himself. Which can last from 30 days to 90 days after the job. This claim has to be submitted online.
