LPG service will start immediately from 1 February
The long wait for delivery of liquefied petroleum gas i.e. LPG or cooking gas is coming to an end. Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), which sells gas under the name Inden, is preparing to launch LPG service immediately. Under this service a gas cylinder will be delivered to the customer on the day of booking
According to a senior IOCL official, the immediate LPG service will start on February 1. The service will start from at least one district or the main city of each state / UT. According to him, delivery of gas cylinders to the customer will be ensured within 45 minutes after booking under this service. The facility is being launched to improve the central government’s Ease of Living principle and services.

There are about 28 crore LPG customers in the country. Of that, India has about 140 crore customers. According to an official familiar with the matter, the dealers’ current delivery network will be used for the Tatkal scheme.
Customers will have to pay an additional fee of Rs 25 per delivery to avail this service.
