 Shikha Shreya/Ranchi: There is one particular problem that is most common during the cold season, and that is the problem of phlegm.  Due to phlegm, problems like cold and cough start bothering.  But in the cold season, if you consume a fruit regularly, it will cut the phlegm like a knife and you will get relief from things like cold and cough.


VK Pandey, a well-known Ayurvedic doctor from Jharkhand's capital Ranchi, told Local 18 that oranges are very common during the cold season.  Eating oranges in cold season is beneficial.  It provides relief in ailments like cold-cough and phlegm.  Especially if you have phlegm jammed in your lungs then this fruit is a panacea for you.


According to Ayurvedic doctor VK Pandey, there are many benefits of eating oranges during the cold season.  In fact, oranges are rich in vitamin C.  Vitamin C helps detox the body from within and boosts your immune system.  If you eat two oranges every day, your daily dose of vitamin C will be completed and your body will be strengthened from within.



He further said that, apart from this, oranges have antioxidant and antibacterial properties.  Which gives great relief in things like swelling or infection in your body.  Eating oranges keeps the spots on the face and the face clear.  It will keep your body hydrated for a long time and your skin will remain moist.  This will not cause problems like cracking and drying of the face.


Dr VK Pandey states that the best time to eat oranges is 11 or 12 noon.  But oranges should never be eaten on an empty stomach in the morning.
