Ayodhya Ram Mandir: Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi is the longest and most controversial case in the country's history. The history of Ram Janmabhoomi is ancient, spanning 495 years from 1528 to 2023. The history of Ramjanmabhoomi has witnessed some important events along with November 9, 2019, when a five-judge constitution bench delivered a historic verdict, it is particularly noteworthy.

Let's take a look at the timeline:

1528: The controversial construction of a mosque on the disputed site was ordered by Mir Baqi, a commander of the Mughal emperor Babur. The Hindu community claimed that this place was the birthplace of Lord Rama, and there was an ancient temple at the site. Hindus assert that the place under one of the domes of the mosque is the birthplace of Lord Rama.

1853-1949: In 1853 there were communal riots around the site where the mosque was built. Then, in 1859, the British administration erected a fence around the disputed area, allowed Muslims to pray inside the mosque and allowed Hindus to worship in the courtyard.

1949: The real controversy over Ayodhya Ramjanmabhoomi began on September 23, 1949, when idols of Lord Rama were found inside the mosque. Hindus claimed that Lord Ram had manifested Himself there. The Uttar Pradesh government had ordered immediate removal of the idols, but District Magistrate K.K. Nair expressed his inability to implement the order due to fear of hurting religious sentiments and inciting violence.

1950: Two petitions were filed in the Faizabad Civil Court - one seeking permission to worship Lord Rama on the disputed land and the other seeking permission to install idols.

1961: The Uttar Pradesh Sunni Waqf Board filed a petition, demanding possession of the disputed land and removal of the idols.

1984: On February 1, 1986, on the application of Faizabad District Judge Umesh Chandra Pandey, K.M. Pandey allowed the Hindus to worship and ordered the locks to be removed from the structure.

1992: A historic event took place on December 6, 1992, when thousands of activists, including Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Shiv Sena, demolished the disputed structure. This led to nationwide communal riots and thousands of lives were lost.

2002: The Godhra train burning incident targeting Hindu activists led to riots in Gujarat, killing more than 2,000 people.

2019: On March 8, 2019, the Supreme Court referred the case for mediation and ordered to complete the proceedings within eight weeks. The arbitration panel delivered its report on August 2, 2019, without reaching a resolution. The Supreme Court then started a daily hearing on the Ayodhya case and reserved judgment after the completion of the hearing on August 16, 2019. On November 9: A five-judge bench of the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Ram Janmabhoomi, awarding 2.77 acres of the disputed land to the Hindu party and allocating an additional 5 acres separately for the mosque.

2020: On March 25, 2020, after 28 years, the idols of Ram Lalla were installed in the fiber temple from the tent, and on August 5, the foundation stone ceremony for the construction of the temple was held.

2023: Once again the grand temple of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya is ready. On January 22, 2024, the grand temple of Ram Lalla will be consecrated, ending the decades-long controversy, and here Ram Lalla will now be ritually worshipped.
