Next 19th Jeth Sud Agiyaras will be celebrated as Nirjala Ekadashi on Monday with faith and devotion. According to a popular story about the importance of this Ekadashi, when Bhima, one of the five Pandavas, questioned Veda Vyasji regarding the Ekadashi Vrat that he could not go even for a day, even a single time without food. So how can I get the merit of 24 Ekadashi in a year? Then Ved Vyas told about Nirjla Ekadashi of Sud Paksha month of Jeth, he told Bhima to observe Ekadashi Vrat on this day. Bhima fasted on this Ekadashi, hence it is also called "Bhimseni Ekadashi". This tithi is observed without drinking water, hence it is called Nirjala Ekadashi. Devotees who fast do not even drink water. He worships Lord Vishnu in the morning and evening and on the next day, on Baras Tithi, he eats food himself after giving food to a Brahmin.

In the evening one should continuously chant the mantra "Shri Krishna Sharanam Mamah" as well as "Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya" while going 108 rounds of the Pipla tree. Also, when to light a pure tulsi lamp, recite Bhagavad Gita. If possible keep vigil by chanting bhajan kirtan all night.
