Senoir Citizen Pension: Hello friends, the long awaited demand of pensioners is finally satisfied.  In a recent announcement, the Rajasthan government has decided to increase the pension for retirees, sending a wave of joy among many.  This landmark decision means that the increase in pension will start after the retiree reaches the age of 61

Increase in annual pension from the age of 61 years

 Yes, you read that right.  Rajasthan government has allowed 1% annual pension hike for pensioners starting from the age of 61 years.  This exciting news was shared by Shri Suraj Prakash Tak, State Executive President of Rajasthan Pensioners Forum through a press release.

Key Meeting Insights

 The important meeting was attended by key officials including Finance Secretary (Budget), Director of Medical and Health Services, Director of Pension Department and RGHS Project Director.  They discussed and approved the increase in pension, much to the delight of pensioners' associations.  The pensioners expressed their gratitude to the Government of Rajasthan and pledged their support for future initiatives.

Detailed Pension Increment Plan

 Fulfilling the aspirations of the pensioners, the Rajasthan government has outlined a comprehensive scheme for pension enhancement.  Starting at 1% at age 61, the increase continues annually, reaching 5% by age 65.  As a result, pensioners can expect a cumulative 20% growth by the time they turn 80

 Additional Discussions and Agreements

 Other important issues like reduction of pension commutation period from 15 years to 12 years were also discussed in this meeting.  In addition, there was consensus to provide free vitamin and calcium supplements to pensioners.  These initiatives met with the approval of the concerned departments, promising significant benefits for pensioners.

 Influence on national policy

 This decision of the Rajasthan government is expected to put pressure on the central government to take similar steps.  Currently, the Central Government is considering the recommendations to increase the pension to the age of 65, as suggested by the Parliamentary Committee.  However, this proposal is yet to be implemented.
